The United Arab Emirates has officially condemned the resumption of excavation and bulldozing operations, alongside the construction of fortifications, by Israeli forces within the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. These activities are occurring in the area identified as the “Sufa 53 line.” The UAE reiterated its categorical rejection of any actions that infringe upon the sovereignty of Syria or threaten its security and stability.
Legal and Diplomatic Stance
In a formal statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasized that these continued Israeli operations constitute a flagrant violation of international law. The Ministry further asserted that such actions represent a breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel, an accord that Israel is obligated to uphold. The UAE reaffirmed its unwavering support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity, expressing solidarity with the Syrian people. The Ministry further stated its backing for all efforts aimed at fulfilling Syrian aspirations for security, peace, dignity, peaceful coexistence, and development. The UAE called on the international community to take immediate action to halt these attacks and prevent further escalation that could threaten regional and international peace.
