UAE President and King of Jordan Discuss Strategic Ties

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan conducted a phone call to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation. The dialogue focused on expanding ties across multiple sectors, with a particular emphasis on economic and development initiatives. Both leaders discussed the significant potential for progress under the existing Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which remains a cornerstone of their shared efforts to drive prosperity for their citizens.

A key highlight of the discussion was the newly launched Aqaba–Al-Shidiyeh–Maan Railway Project. Following the formal laying of the foundation stone in Jordan yesterday, the leaders underscored the initiative as a testament to their enduring commitment to strategic collaboration. Managed by the Jordan-UAE Railway Company, the project is designed to advance joint priorities and provide long-term benefits to both nations.

Beyond economic matters, the conversation turned to the current landscape in the Middle East. President Mohamed bin Zayed and King Abdullah II assessed regional developments and reaffirmed their pledge to maintain regular coordination. This ongoing consultation is aimed at bolstering regional security, stability, and peace for the collective welfare of the people in the region.
