The United Arab Emirates has successfully mediated a new prisoner exchange between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine, securing the release of 103 captives from each side. This latest operation brings the cumulative total of prisoners exchanged through UAE-led mediation efforts to 7,997.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised both nations for their continued cooperation with the UAE, acknowledging the country’s role as a trusted international mediator. Officials highlighted that this mission represents the 26th successful mediation effort to date, underscoring the strong diplomatic ties maintained between the UAE, Russia, and Ukraine.
In its statement, the Ministry reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The UAE remains dedicated to mitigating the broader humanitarian consequences of the crisis, with a specific focus on supporting refugees and facilitating the return of captives.
