The United Arab Emirates has officially conveyed its sincere condolences and solidarity to the government and people of the Republic of Zimbabwe following a tragic maritime accident on Lake Kariba.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the UAE expressed deep sympathy to the families of those affected by the disaster. The government also extended its wishes for a swift and full recovery to all individuals injured in the incident.
Reports indicate that the passenger vessel was carrying 95 people when it capsized. Authorities have confirmed that at least 44 individuals lost their lives in the accident, which has prompted international expressions of support.
The UAE continues to maintain a practice of offering diplomatic support during international crises, having recently issued similar statements regarding road accidents in Angola and Egypt, as well as flood-related tragedies and a bus crash in Syria.
In separate developments regarding regional connectivity, the UAE has also announced the expansion of its aviation network, linking Abu Dhabi to four additional destinations across India to bolster travel between the two nations. The report also notes that zimbabwe ferry capsizes with 95 people on board.
