Thirteen-year-old Mohammad Arafat, a fourth-grade student at Mahini Madrasa, has been missing for two weeks in Chauddagram, Cumilla. His disappearance has left his parents, Ali Haider and Sultana Akter Simu, along with other relatives, in a state of profound distress and anxiety as they continue to search for him.
Arafat, a resident of Chandishkara village in the Chauddagram municipality, was last seen on the morning of July 23. According to his family, he returned home from his madrasa that morning, changed his clothes, and told his parents he was going out to play. Instead of heading to a playground, he traveled to his maternal grandparents’ home in Basantapur village. Upon discovering his grandmother was in Chauddagram for medical treatment, he reportedly traveled to Feni to visit a former teacher before setting out to return home.
The family was unaware of his movements toward his grandparents’ home or Feni at the time. When Arafat failed to return home by the night of July 23, his relatives began an extensive search. Although they eventually learned about his travel path, he has not been seen or heard from since that day. The family is now pleading for public assistance in locating the boy.

Addressing the ongoing investigation, Chauddagram Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Arif Hossain stated, “A general diary (GD) has been filed at the police station regarding the missing madrasa student. The police are making every possible effort to rescue him.”
