Formula 1 CEO Confirms Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Will Proceed as Scheduled

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is set to take place as planned from December 3 to December 6 at the Yas Marina Circuit. This event will serve as the official conclusion to the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship season.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula One, confirmed that preparations for the season finale are moving forward according to the established schedule. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to the calendar and noted that the city is ready to host the final race in an exceptional atmosphere, complemented by a wide array of accompanying events and visitor experiences.

Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Under-Secretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, highlighted that the emirate has hosted Formula 1 since 2009, a testament to its global standing and capacity to attract premier international sporting events. He noted that the Grand Prix plays a vital role in boosting Abu Dhabi’s appeal as a worldwide destination, providing significant support to the local hospitality, tourism, and events sectors by drawing international visitors.

Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, stated that operational preparations are progressing smoothly. He affirmed that his team is working closely with Formula 1 and various local partners to ensure an outstanding experience for all participating teams, drivers, and fans. The event is designed to integrate high-stakes competition at the Yas Marina Circuit with a diverse program of concerts, hospitality offerings, and entertainment across Yas Island, solidifying its reputation as a premier season-ending spectacle in the world of motorsport.
