Dubai Police have launched a comprehensive training initiative aimed at enhancing traffic safety and operational readiness for security personnel stationed at educational institutions. The program has successfully reached over 140 security guards across 35 schools throughout the emirate, focusing on essential traffic rules and safety guidelines to better protect students during their daily commutes.
Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, stated that these workshops underscore the department’s dedication to building robust partnerships with local institutions. The primary goal is to empower security supervisors to effectively manage traffic-related challenges at their respective sites. “The training also equips them to take appropriate action in minor cases, contributing to smoother traffic flow and improved safety levels,” he noted.
During the sessions, participants were instructed on identifying common traffic accidents within school zones and utilizing the Dubai Police smart application, “We are All Police,” to report incidents efficiently. The curriculum also provided a detailed overview of traffic signs, regulations, and best practices for managing vehicle movement during the high-traffic drop-off and pick-up periods.
The training program incorporated practical, hands-on scenarios that simulated real-world traffic accidents to test the guards’ response capabilities. Beyond traffic management, the guards received specialized guidance on ensuring students safely board and exit school buses. This training also outlined professional protocols for initial emergency response, ensuring that security staff can maintain order and safety until official authorities arrive on the scene.
