European Commission President Condemns New Israeli Settlement Project in West Bank

The European Commission has formally condemned the Israeli government’s decision to issue tenders for the E1 settlement project in the occupied West Bank. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated on X that the move is unacceptable, noting that the European Union has long opposed such expansion efforts.

This criticism follows a joint call from several nations, including France, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and Norway. These countries have urged the Israeli authorities to immediately abandon the E1 project and halt all further settlement expansion across the occupied West Bank.
