The United Arab Emirates is bracing for continued unsettled weather as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts rain to persist across various regions through Thursday. This follows three consecutive days of rainfall, which included heavy downpours in the Al Sa’a area of Al Ain that caused significant water runoff and accumulation on local roads.
Monday’s conditions are expected to remain clear to partly cloudy, with convective cloud formations likely in the eastern regions by the afternoon, potentially bringing rain. Humid conditions are anticipated overnight and into Tuesday morning across coastal zones. Winds will generally blow from the southeast to the northeast, ranging from 10 to 25 km/h and occasionally reaching 35 km/h. Sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to remain slight.
On Tuesday, the likelihood of convective clouds will expand to include both eastern and southern areas. The humidity is expected to persist into Wednesday morning, with a possibility of fog or light fog developing in internal and coastal regions. Winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally becoming active and stirring up dust, with speeds between 10 and 25 km/h, peaking at 40 km/h.
The pattern continues on Wednesday, with convective clouds expected to develop in the east and south before moving into internal areas. Winds will intensify slightly, ranging from 15 to 30 km/h and reaching up to 45 km/h, particularly around cloud formations. By Thursday, the weather will return to a mix of clear and partly cloudy skies, with convective clouds again expected in the east. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, maintaining speeds of 10 to 25 km/h with gusts up to 40 km/h.
Temperature forecasts for Monday indicate high heat across the country. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are both expected to reach a maximum of 45°C, with minimums of 33°C and 35°C respectively. Sharjah and Al Ain will see highs of 46°C, with lows of 31°C and 34°C. Ajman and Umm Al Quwain are forecast to reach 43°C and 44°C respectively, both with minimums of 31°C. Ras Al Khaimah will record a high of 45°C and a low of 32°C, while Fujairah is expected to see temperatures between 33°C and 42°C.
