The UAE Floating Hospital, currently stationed in the Egyptian city of Al Arish, has successfully delivered prosthetic limbs to 21 injured Palestinians. This latest effort, conducted under the humanitarian framework of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, brings the total number of individuals supported by the Step of Hope programme to 72.
As part of this initiative, each beneficiary undergoes a rigorous medical and technical evaluation process. This includes taking precise measurements to ensure that the prosthetic devices are custom-manufactured and fitted to meet specific individual requirements. Beyond the hardware, patients are provided with essential physiotherapy and mobility rehabilitation to help them regain physical independence and manage their daily activities with greater ease.
The Step of Hope programme operates as an integrated care system. It encompasses a full spectrum of services, ranging from initial medical assessments and the fabrication of custom limbs to ongoing rehabilitation sessions and consistent medical follow-up.
