The Sharjah Misdemeanor Court is presiding over the case of a delivery driver accused of embezzling a company motorcycle. The driver allegedly refused to return the vehicle to his employer after a traffic accident that resulted in him sustaining serious injuries.
Case documents reveal that the delivery company owner filed a formal report after the employee failed to return the motorcycle provided for work duties. The company initiated legal action for embezzlement once the driver ceased his employment without surrendering the vehicle.
During the trial, the defendant denied the charges. He testified that a work-related traffic accident left him with a broken arm, a dislocated shoulder, and a loss of consciousness, which prevented him from returning the bike or contacting his employer immediately. He later reached out to his supervisor once recovered, noting he kept the motorcycle because he had paid for his own medical expenses without company compensation.
After reviewing the case file and hearing testimony from both parties, the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court decided to postpone the sentencing to a future session.
