His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, officially inaugurated the new government season on Wednesday by chairing a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. By reviewing international best practices and providing real-time recommendations, the system will assist ministers in monitoring the implementation of decisions around the clock. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the goal is to foster a more efficient government capable of making faster, more precise decisions.
Addressing government teams, the Prime Minister delivered three core messages to mark the start of the season. He asserted that the UAE will not pause for ideal conditions, noting that the nation’s projects are ongoing, the economy is expanding, and markets are operating at full capacity. He also highlighted the strategic importance of the government-wide AI transformation, which he described as a fundamental shift in operations, and reaffirmed the value of national trust built through decades of investment in infrastructure and global relationships.
Environmental sustainability remains a key priority, with the Cabinet reviewing the National Strategy to Combat Desertification (2022-2030). Progress reports indicate that the UAE now hosts 55 nature reserves, has rehabilitated 4,900 hectares of land, and added over 3.2 million square metres of green space. Additionally, authorities have successfully protected 341,000 native trees, a move Sheikh Mohammed characterized as a vital investment in the nation’s long-term quality of life.
The government also reported significant milestones in its digital transformation journey. Over the past year, federal entities processed more than 308 million digital transactions across 1,633 services. With 15.8 million downloads of government applications and a 92 percent customer satisfaction rate for priority services, the UAE continues to lead global competitiveness rankings in telecommunications infrastructure, digital skills, and AI adoption.
Education is also undergoing a technological shift, with a new program set to provide AI training to 22,000 teachers. This initiative aims to equip educators with the skills to integrate AI into lesson planning, curriculum analysis, and student assessment. Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the UAE is among the first nations to develop a comprehensive AI curriculum for all education levels and has approved a mechanism to share this expertise with other countries.
Looking ahead, the Cabinet finalized the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled for November 8-10. These sessions will focus on national readiness and resilience, covering logistics, supply chains, and the economy. The meetings will also serve as a platform to evaluate the deployment of AI assistants across various entities and honor winners of the inaugural UAE Years Award.
Reflecting on the nation’s trajectory, Sheikh Mohammed concluded that the UAE’s strength lies in its dedicated teams and the resolve of its people. He reiterated that the country’s ambition remains limitless, driven by a commitment to continuous innovation and the pursuit of a future-ready government.
