Christina Aguilera’s September Abu Dhabi Concert Cancelled: Refund Details Confirmed

Fans expecting to see Christina Aguilera perform at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on September 25 have been informed that the concert is officially cancelled. Ticketmaster, the primary booking platform, confirmed the news on Tuesday and assured ticket holders that they do not need to take any action to receive their money back.

According to the platform, all refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method used during the purchase. Customers can expect these transactions to be completed within 21 working days. Currently, Ticketmaster UAE lists no further upcoming performances for the artist in the region.

While organizers have not provided a specific reason for the cancellation or announced a potential replacement date, the move marks another shift in the singer’s local schedule. The September show was previously rescheduled from an original date of April 24, at which time existing tickets were honored for the new slot and refunds were made available to those unable to attend.

This announcement coincides with news regarding the Offlimits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi, which has also been rescheduled. Originally planned for April 4, the event—featuring Shakira, the Jonas Brothers, Ne-Yo, and Biffy Clyro—is now slated for November 21 at Etihad Park. Organizers for the festival have confirmed that ticket holders will receive automatic refunds through their respective purchase platforms, with potential plans for the festival to return in 2027.

Aguilera’s history in the UAE capital remains significant despite this recent cancellation. She most recently performed a sold-out show as part of the Saadiyat Nights series in February 2025. That appearance served as her first return to Abu Dhabi in 17 years, following a notable performance at the Emirates Palace in October 2008.

Between those two major capital appearances, the Grammy-winning artist also maintained a presence in the country by performing at the closing celebrations of Expo 2020 Dubai in March 2022. During that event, she shared the stage for the final-night program alongside artists such as Norah Jones and Yo-Yo Ma.

The cancellation of the September concert leaves a gap in the local entertainment calendar, though fans continue to track other major acts visiting the region this autumn. As the industry adjusts to these scheduling changes, the focus remains on the automatic refund process to ensure clarity for all affected concertgoers. The report also notes that organisers have indicated that the festival could return in 2027.
